Did you hear about the teenager whose head exploded at midnight?
Britney and all the young-rich-and-beautiful set are having energy drinks at clubs and parties now. So, teens everywhere are doing the same. Red Bull is the most popular one. It originated in Thailand to help truck drivers stay awake as they drove mountainous jungle trails at night.
Copycat drinks were exported by European businessmen. Some of the drinks were known to have high levels of questionable ingredients from these uncharted rainforests. Some have ingredients that have never been labeled or even known to Western scientists

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (December 14) – A late surge by the Aggie women’s basketball team (1-8) was not enough to defeat the Cardinals of the University of the Incarnate Word (3-4) today in San Antonio. The game went back and forth and featured multiple lead changes, but UIW came out on top 48-43. Neither team held more than a three-point lead until late in the second half when the Aggies were forced to foul. A few late three-pointers looked promising for the Aggies, but the team did not have enough to defeat the tough Cardinal squad. The loss is Cameron’s seventh in a row.

LAWTON, Oklahoma (December 14) – The Cameron men’s basketball team (1-8) got over the hump tonight, securing their first win of the season in dominating fashion. The Aggies completely outplayed the Eagles of RHEMA Bible College (2-12) by the score 109-73. Tonight CU put on an absolutely outstanding show for the fans in attendance.
The Aggies started the game red hot and looked as if they would keep the lead the entire game. They let the Eagles back into it early but quickly shut the door. Cameron was truly running on all cylinders tonight to get their first win.

Did you hear about the girl, I think she was in ninth grade, but she was mature for her age and a real good student, who was baby-sitting on the same street where this little old lady had been killed the month before.
The girl did lots of baby-sitting and since it was the holidays she was trying to do all she could for money to buy her family and friends presents.
This couple that she had worked for before were going to an office Christmas party and asked her to watch their little boy, he was seven, in second grade. The house was on the edge of town. You could see the mountains and wildlife refuge real clearly because there weren’t very many houses on the other side of the street.

Did you hear about the family that brought home a really tall, full tree they purchased from the outdoor lot? They put it in a stand to let it fluff out overnight and planned to decorate it the next day.
The next morning, while they were decorating, the little girl saw a movement among the pine needles. The mother parted a couple of branches and looked closely. Suddenly she was struck in the left eye by a six-foot rattlesnake that had been curled around the trunk. It was an...

Good News on the Home Front in Lawton

Well, I hope you heard the good news about housing in Lawton.
A government report earlier this month stated that while the housing industry has a crisis going on nationally, Oklahoma and notably Lawton, are an oasis for the industry.
That says good things about local homeowners and buyers, those doing the financing, realtors, and, dare I say it, maybe even an appraiser got it right.
It also says, new folks are moving...

Lawton - Fort Sill is growing. The Housing Market in our great city will continue to rise in value.
There are many factors contributing to the positive growth we are experiencing in our community. However, the primary reason is Supply and Demand. A Brigade of troops will arrive in Lawton - Fort Sill within the next few years. The roads are expanding. New commercial industry is arriving in our town. We are growing and we will continue to grow. The prices of homes have been increasing at a steady rate in our community for many years. However, the housing market will rise much more than usual as the supply of homes becomes less than the great demand we will have.
New construction is ever increasing in Lawton and surrounding towns such as Cache, Elgin, and Geronimo. The price of New Construction has and will continue to increase, just as the prices of Existing Homes have and will continue to increase.
Over the past year, the talk of growth in our community has been heard. Now, the sound is loud, and it is growing in strength and intensity.

Here are a few winterizing tips: First, live in Florida.
My family lived in Palm Beach when I was a kid. Heaviest winter coat I ever had was a lightweight poplin jacket – and I didn’t wear that every day. Never heard my parents complain about heating bills.
But, if like more and more of us, you’re finding Southwest Oklahoma is a great place to call home, you’ll find that your house does need a little more preparation for the winter months.
