SAN ANTONIO, Texas (November 24) – The Cameron men’s basketball team (0-4) wrapped up play at the St. Mary’s University Invitational tournament this evening in San Antonio, Texas. The Aggies failed to secure a win at the event after losing to Paul Quinn College (4-3), 89-84, on Friday and to St. Mary’s University (3-2), 66-63 tonight.

Cameron is now 0-4 on the season after dropping both games at the Pittsburg State Classic tournament last weekend.

Both games were extremely close and looked as if they could go either way. Cameron actually held a few leads in each game. Against Paul Quinn, the Aggies shot a team field goal percentage of 33.7% (30 of 89) with 16 turnovers. In their match-up with St. Mary’s, the Aggies recorded a 40.8% (20 of 49) with 19 turnovers.

Junior forward Leslie Malone recorded two double-doubles on the weekend, his third and fourth of the season through four games. Against PQC Malone recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds in 24 minutes of play. In CU’s game with SMU he totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.

Malone also totaled team-highs with 6 steals and 6 blocks in the tournament. His 7 assists also contributed.

The Aggies travel to Stephenville, Texas, this Thursday for a game with the Tarleton State Texans. The game begins at 8:00pm.
