Lawton Realtor Recognized for Heart
Here's something worth pointing out that'll make you feel good as we enter a whole new year. A Lawton realtor was one of three from across the state to receive the 2007 Open Door Award. The award seeks the "brightest and best realtors who give unselfishly to improving the world around them through community service." Tony Capuccio was honored Oct. 15 at the Celebration Banquet during the annual Education Conference and Trade Show in Oklahoma City.
According to the Oklahoma Association of Realtors' magazine Opening Doors (Oct./Nov./Dec. 2007 ed.), Tony "won the award for his work with Habitat for Humanity, a Christian-based non-profit that works with volunteer labor and donations for money and materials to build and rehabilitate simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Tony began working with Habitat by organizing blitz builds in the Lawton area three years ago. He has continued to be a vocal supporter of the organization and brought volunteers, donors and the spotlight to habitat."
Community service like that points out what's good about the housing industry in Lawton. Way to go and happy New Year, Tony!
