I’ll wash myself in the sea of my sorrow
And try to come away clean
Rinse out the stains that you left on my heart
Tear out my old hopes and dreams
Drown all my anger and look towards tomorrow
Misery ends where the ocean begins
The waves beat the shore pulling me into the sand
But Time heals all watch me- one day I’ll stand
Bathe my raw wounds in salty water
Lay by the seaside and wait for the tide
The water is rising; coming up higher
I’ll drown even deeper in my body of tears
But the ocean recedes, leaving me empty
The waterline runs away with my fears
I may not move on, but I’ll find serenity
Now that my heart has been bathed and is dried
My sadness has served me- and I’m glad to have cried
