CU tennis, baseball scheduling updates
LAWTON, Oklahoma (April 17) – With mere weeks left in the 2007-2008 athletic season, two of the Cameron Aggie Athletic programs saw their schedules altered a bit this morning.
The nationally ranked #25 Aggie women’s tennis team was originally scheduled to travel to Edmond, Oklahoma, this afternoon to take on the Central Oklahoma Bronchos at 1:00pm in the final regular season match of the year. Cameron had already begun their journey to UCO’s campus when the call came in that inclement weather would force the cancellation of today’s match.
Poor weather and rains in the Edmond area made today’s playing conditions less than ideal. There is no word yet on if the match will be made up or not. Every effort to reschedule the match will be made, but time is running out as the postseason begins next week with the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament (April 24-26).
Cameron’s baseball team also saw a schedule change this morning. Late next week (April 24-26) the Aggies were scheduled to take on the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs in a three-day, four-game series. The series was originally scheduled to run from Thursday to Saturday but has since been reduced to two days.
The teams will now play a double-header in Lawton at McCord Field on Friday (April 25) beginning at 12:00pm. The series will conclude the next day (Saturday, April 26) with a double-header between the teams in Weatherford, Oklahoma, also beginning at 12:00pm. Saturday’s games will be the final regular season action for the Aggies.
The Cameron baseball team’s road series this weekend (April 18-20) at Abilene Christian University is still going on as scheduled.
